Kevin Kilgore - VACA Board Member

Kevin KilgoreKevin Kilgore was born and raised in central Virginia where he has been the Chief of Animal Control for Hanover County, Virginia since 1992.

Since 1992, Kevin Kilgore has been the head of Animal Control in Hanover County restructuring the department and working on improving the career of Animal Care and Control with standard organized procedures based on the industry, initiating career development programs for both animal care and control officers, initiating community outreach projects through rabies clinics, adoption functions, and dog park, providing community rabies and licensing programs, and finally formalizing facility renovations and additions along with community volunteer programs.

Kevin Kilgore currently serves as a board member on the National Animal Control Association, Virginia Animal Control Association as Vice President, National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy, Central Virginia Animal Abuse Task Force, Virginia Disaster Program Committee, and a few others. 

"I have always been a strong advocate for animal care and control with an emphasis on community outreach and customer service.  As a VACA board member, I would like to see more professional training standards, laws protecting animal care and control officers and staff, and finally have the Virginia Animal Control Association take over all administrative duties for Virginia Animal Control and build up VACA to become the strongest state association in the World."
