Chad Carr - VACA Board Member
Hello, my name is Chad Carr. I am the Chief Animal Control Officer for Orange County. I have been here in Orange for a little over 3 years. I started here working for the County Admin., but a few months later I moved under the Sheriff. This was a great move for me and my Department. This gave us the opportunity to receive the basic training we needed as law enforcement and also gave us a great deal of depth to pull from having an entire Sheriff's Office with Officers with years of experience in law enforcement. Since I came to Orange, I have been work very hard to redo our county ordinances pertaining to animals. This was not easy and I am far from done, but with the help of other ACO's, Board members, my Sheriff and others I have started to get them up to date. This is something that I feel is very important, the main reason is that it helps with county revenue. I also have attended the VACA conferences and this part year became a Board Member. VACA Goals: My goals for VACA are this. Training!!!!!! I have said from the day I was voted in as a board member that my number one goal is to mandate training for ACO's that will provide the basic training on officer safety and on the daily job that we do. I have also been working on a task force program with Richard that we hope present to you in October, more to come on this. Please feel free to call me with any question that you have or if I can help you or your department with training.
